Rochester, N.Y. concert review Rochester N.Y. Concert Review March 1993 Submitted by: Matt Hill Anyways, the Crowes did play Rochester on the 9th, but the show sold out in an hour and a half, so they also did the 10th, which sold out in the same time. I saw them on the tenth and here on campus (Barton Hall, Cornell University) on Friday, the 12th. I worked as part of the lcoal crew, unloading the trucks and talking to roadies most of the day, but then from the soundcheck up till the beginning of the show, I got to do security for their dressing room and got to meet them. They were really cool. I wish I had seen the soundcheck, instead of standing in front of their drssing room, though. Chris commented to one of the managers "they're practically playing the whole new record out there!" when he came back for a short break. As far as dates go, they were supposed to play Hartford CT the 13th, but it was cancelled due to the storm. I heard they'll be in Daytona this weekend for a spring break type show and will probably be on MTV. I used a stereo-recording Sony that was small enough so that wearing baggy jeans I could put it in a sock. I was frisked on the way in, and they made me open my coat and stuff, but they never pat all the way down to your ankle.... While giving good sound when it worked, except for a couple slow-downs, the Sony crapped out midway into the "jam". I really like Bitter Bitter You... ot should be on the next disc. Rochester 3/10 was it's premier for an audience....they didn't play it 3/9 or anytime before, according to the roadies. They did a new song here in Ithaca called Nowhere Stair.
